In the heart of the Mission Canyon District of Santa Barbara, a naturalist modern structure. Designed with the capability to be a NetZero home with a solar photovoltaic system, solar water heating and a two story solarium for passive solar heating.  Maximizing light and views and dissolving barriers between inside and outside space were primary directives of the project.  Built to answer to the larger environment as well as to the site it sits on, other green features include: High efficiency appliances, Magnetic induction cook top, Icynene insulation, FSC certified lumber,  No VOC  or low VOC finishes throughout,  Finished concrete floors, Use of native SB stone, Efficient lighting and urban/rural landscaping integrating food producing plants with ornamentals. The home meets or exceeds the high fire hazard standards.
